This is posted today because of an email received by N2CQR that was asking Bill about a club project that wanted to leap directly into a SSB transceiver build. Bill's sage advice -- Don't start there but start with a DCR which builds confidence and is a learning tool.
That was the thrust of this series of articles penned in 2015.
